MEGANT®- heavy duty system
- For an invisible joint or when specific fire protection requirements are needed, MEGANT® can be processed with concealed three-sided installation.
- Due to the gap-sealed connection, no additional covers or fire protection tapes are necessary.
- According to EN 1995-1-2, a 30-minute fire resistance (R30) requires a wood overlap of 28 mm. Higher fire resistance (e.g., R60) is also achievable.
- For fire protection covering of R60 / R90, the connector is additionally wrapped with Firestrip Interdense Type 15 on top of the wood overlap.
- Firestrip Interdense Type 15 is ETA -16/0811 approved.
- The Firestrip envelops the MEGANT® connector from all six sides and expands at 150°C. From 300°C, the wrapping achieves its full expansion capacity.
